A good book!

I recently read a really good book titled "Gifts from the Sea" written by Ann Morrow Lindbergh. It was a quick read and gave me a different perspective on life. I would recommend this book for any woman to read no matter what point of life they are at. The book is a series of essays written by Ann Lindbergh throughout her life. She creates wonderful metaphors comparing life's lessons and items from the beach.

Go Lakers!

Last night was a good game!! The Lakers started off behind and made an impressive come back to win the game against the San Antonio Spurs!! The Lakers are heading to the NBA finals! Woo Hoo!

The Change!

After 20 years of being a blonde i decided a change was needed. I was thinking about how expensive the up keep of blonde hair was and decided dye my hair close to its natural color. I am now a brunette!!

My Path!

I am fully aware of the fact that life never goes exactly as planned. There are unexpected twists an turns throughout life that take you to places that you could not even imagine. We plan out our days, weeks, months, years, and lives but it never works out how we expect it to.
Today I was trying to figure out where life (more specifically school) is going to take me. Last semester I decided to change my major to communication disorders. The plan is then after completing my bachelors degree I would go on to grad school, where I would receive my masters degree in speech pathology. This week however I was thinking I am going to be in school forever. So tonight I sat down at my computer and went on MY MAP (BYU's blueprint for success), and mapped out the classes I would need to take. I realized that if I stayed this spring and summer I could finish my bachelors by Fall 2009.
The great thing about this is that I would be finishing my bachelors degree in a little under four years. I would also be able to start the masters program before I am twenty - two. I hope that this works out. You never know life could always twist an unexpected way.

Busy!!

I have been super busy lately!! School is kicking my trash as always!! I have been studying a lot!! I think my life consists of studying, gym, hanging out with KC, reading my scriptures, going to the temple, reading textbooks, and on rare occasions sleeping. I feel like I hardly get to see my friends anymore!! I have been so busy!
My Birthday!!
My birthday was March first and I turned 20!! Yes, I am officially not a teenager!! On my actual birthday I went out to dinner with my family, roommates, and a few close friends. It was a really intimate and fun group of people! The day after my birthday I had a cookie birthday party! Courtney and I made delicious cookies for everyone! We also played rock band! (I am not going to lie ... I am super good at singing maps) It was so much fun! I cannot believe that I am twenty!

My parents got to go on a well deserved trip to Costa Rica! They sent me home for the weekend to babysit John! It was so much fun to hang out with that little man! I love him! I probably spoil him too much! We went to Sushi, Disneyland, watched movies, and just had a blast! My parents made us super jealous by sending pictures of Costa Rica! They went zip lining, golfing, and laid out! It is so beautiful there! I really want to go!!

The Y!!
KC was making fun of me because I had never hiked the Y! I told him when I came back from California I would hike the Y with him!! We hiked the Y and it was super fun! It was super cold when we got up there! We should have been wearing five pairs of pants and like seven jackets! The view was amazing! It was super fun even though I kicked his trash!! (Who knew that I was in better shape then someone who plays soccer? not me!)

Easter!
On Easter my sweet friend Mallory and I decided to cook a delicious dinner! It was super fun! We divided up the dishes and made a yummy Easter Dinner! I made the ham and cheesy potatoes; Mallory made rolls, fruit salad, and a poppy seed salad! It was really fun! We had some of our friends over! It made it seem a little bit more like Easter even though we were not home!

On wednesday night KC and I went to the Luau at BYU to watch his sister perform!! It looked like so much fun!! His sister Erin did a great job! She was part of the New Zealand dance and got to use the poi balls! Next year Erin and I are going to do it together and do the tahiti dance and shake our booty!! woo hoo!!

Reading Books

As a little girl growing up my mother would make us read over summer. We would go to the local library and find the books that looked the most intriguing to us, and were forced to read them. To me reading felt like a chore. I much rather would have been at the beach, dance, swimming, gymnastics, or cheer practice. As I grew older however I grew to love reading.
My junior year in high school after competition season for cheer had ended I started reading "The Five People You Meet In Heaven" by Mitch Albom and I fell in love. I could not put the book down. I would read it at lunch, during class, after class, after school, and on rare occasions before school. This book is amazing. It was the first book I that ever loved. After that book, I fell in love with reading. I now read all kinds of books. I read poetry books, biography, romance novels, classic novels, religious books, and of course text books.
I just finished "Tuesdays With Morrie" also written by Mitch Albom. He is my favorite author. I love his style of writing. His writing makes me feel so comfortable. "The Five People You Meet In Heaven" and "Tuesdays With Morrie" both discuss death. It is strange how a topic that is normally so depressing he makes seem uplifting. "The Five People You Meet In Heaven" changed my perspective on how I could impact peoples lives."Tuesdays With Morrie" made me realize that we all have emotions and that we are all the same; we all are born into this world and we all die. I cannot wait to dive into my next read. It will have to wait however, because now I am bombarded with school. Textbooks are my main source of reading now a days.

My Valentines

Happy Valentines Day!! I dedicate my valentines day to my family!! They are always my valentines!! They keep me grounded, make me laugh, and know me better then I know myself!! I love them!!







My dad is great!! He is smart, kind, and funny!! My dad has taught me everything I know about sports!! My dad has helped me grow a love for ESPN ( I know I am strange I watch sports center by myself)!! My dad is a great listener!! My dad is a great peacemaker!! My dad is a great cook!! My dad is a great texter ( I get a text from him everyday saying that he loves and misses me)!! I love my daddy!!

My little brother John is the greatest thirteen year old I have ever met. He is hilarious!! He makes jokes that get me rolling on the floor laughing! He is very determined!! My brother wants to get his eagle scout by the time is fifteen! He is becoming the little athlete (he may even work out more then me ... scary thought)!! He is very kind!! My little brother also has a testimony and does what is right without even being asked!! I wish I was at home so I could see him grow up!! I love him!!

I have the most gorgeous sister on the planet!!! My sister is the kind of person that people want to be around! She is also very athletic! My sister is very smart! She is a freshman at BYU and loving it! I love her so much!! She is the best sister I could ask for!!

I have a wonderful and beautiful mother. My mom is my best friend!! My mother is very smart, personable, and kind. My mother is an amazing first grade teacher. She is great with people of all ages. She relates to her first graders, teenagers, and her peers! She is great!! I am so lucky to have her as my mother! I love her very much!
